Clara Bartnik

Clara first became involved with World Savvy after participating in the World Savvy Classrooms program in middle school. After that, her interests in global competence, political efficacy, and human rights advocacy grew throughout high school with her involvement in leading an Amnesty International group and taking U.S. Government and Comparative Politics classes.

Clara is now a Global Studies and Political Science major and a Spanish and Communications Studies minor at the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities. She has a particular interest in human rights and justice in Russia. On campus, Clara works with the Democracy Chapter of the Minnesota Public Interest Research Group, a student activist organization that promotes voter registration, political knowledge, and a Know Your Rights campaign on campus. She also is involved in She’s the First, a nonprofit which provides scholarships with the intent of helping girls from low-income countries become first-generation graduates.

In her limited free time, Clara enjoys working out with the University Running Club, watching movies, writing poetry, and spending time with her brothers. She is excited to stay involved with World Savvy and contribute to an organization that inspires next generation’s leaders.
