James has nearly 10 years of nonprofit finance experience and currently is the Director of Finance and Administration at Next Generation, a think-tank that promotes solutions to the risk of climate change and the threat of diminished prospects for children and families. Before joining the Next Generation team, James was the Director of Finance & Administration at World Savvy for nearly two and a half years. James also ran his own consulting business offering financial services to small and midsize nonprofit organizations throughout the Bay Area. Prior to that, he was the Senior Financial Analyst at the Hispanic Scholarship Fund. In addition to these roles, James also taught Social Studies at George Washington High School in San Francisco and was an Institutional Salesperson on the Asian equities desk at Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corp (HSBC). While at George Washington, James coached two teams in the World Savvy Challenge. James earned his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of San Diego and has a Masters in Education from the University of San Francisco. When not at the office, James can be found running on the trails of Marin or enjoying some outdoor activity with his two sons, wife, and dog.
