Jen Kohan - Consultant
After 17 years teaching high school English and serving as an instructional coach, Jen now works with a wide variety of learners. As a consultant, she provides professional development workshops and seminars for innovative organizations and institutions in teaching and learning, literacy, digital communication, and writing capacities. Jen's clients include the Minnesota Writing Project, Columbia Heights School District, Minnetonka Public Schools, St. Paul Public Schools, and Minnesota’s Department of Education. She also works as an Education Issues Specialist for Education Minnesota, the state teacher's union, where she provides professional development for members, and reviews legislation and best practice in education policy.
Jen currently resides on the board of directors for Minnesota ASCD, the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development. Her professional interests include Connected Learning and digital literacy as a means to build educator skills and encourage transference of these skills to the classroom. She also loves to travel, and hosts yearly international writing retreats.
