Josh Guggenheim

Josh is a sophomore at Claremont McKenna College. Josh first became involved with World Savvy in the seventh grade, when he participated in the World Savvy Challenge. Later, on the 2013 World Savvy and American Youth Leadership Program cultural exchange in Peru, Josh became interested in social entrepreneurship. In 2014, Josh studied social entrepreneurship on the World Savvy and Youth Ambassadors Program cultural exchange with Haiti. In high school, Josh undertook two independent studies in social entrepreneurship. In the first, he compared the approaches of two social entrepreneurs to creating sustainable development and appropriate technologies. In the second, Josh interviewed a selection of successful social entrepreneurs who spoke about their ventures, backgrounds, inspirations, and wisdom. Josh is sharing this project to spread information about social entrepreneurship, specifically to teens.  Read his work here: Social Entrepreneurship For Teenagers-Lessons From The Experts.

Josh is a consultant at Claremont McKenna’s Center for Writing and Public Discourse. He is also a First Year Guide, helping to transition new students into their first years at college. Additionally, Josh founded Claremont McKenna’s 3D Printing Club, which will have its first meeting in Fall 2016. He plans to use the club to promote sustainable social innovation by means of customizable additive manufacturing.
