Katie Selinsky - Development Manager
Katie is passionate about innovative ideas that not only result in quality educational experiences for all students, but also inspire them to change the world. That passion led her to over five years of work in youth development and after-school programs, and now to World Savvy. She got her start in the nonprofit sector working on the cleared-off corner of an old table in the back room of a coffee shop for an education start-up called the Creative Youth Center where she spent two and a half years. The organization served as a creative writing and tutoring center for K-12 students in West Michigan, using creativity to engage kids with learning and empower them to share their voices. She spent an additional year and a half as a site coordinator for T.E.A.M. 21, a West Michigan organization that provided after-school and summer enrichment programs to low-income elementary students. Most recently, Katie spent five months as a campaign representative for the Greater Twin Cities United Way.
Katie has a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Michigan.
A writer at heart, Katie believes in the power of story to connect people and move them to action
