World Affairs Challenge Date Announced!
We are pleased to announce that Minnesota’s First Annual World Affairs Challenge will be held at Macalester College on Saturday, April 25th 2009. Macalester’s Institute for Global Citizenship will host the 2009 Challenge in partnership with World Savvy.
The Twin Cities: Going Global
Of the 3 million people that live in the Twin Cities metro area, 30% are from a diverse racial/ethnic group. Minnesota also is home to the largest Hmong, Somali, and Liberian communities in the US. Within this context, World Savvy's programs will encourage youth to think critically about how global issues are affecting their local community.
WAC Endorsed by Minnesota Academic League Council!
In October 2008, the MN Academic League Council at the Center for Academic Excellence endorsed the World Affairs Challenge as an academic enrichment program that supplements classroom learning and broadens student performance.
