Anti Food Waste

 

This project covered an in depth exploration conservation efforts regarding food.  The website provides an introduction to the problem, the root causes of the challenges related to feeding the population, and shares information about various countries affected by this problem.  Grassroots solutions are shared in an effort to take local action to help alleviate this global challenge.

Rapping the Climate

 

This spoken word performance highlighted the challenge presented to urban communities by climate change and it’s impact on food production and distribution.  The specific focus of the study and performance revolved around local responses in Minneapolis, MN to alleviating stress on food distribution.  Community gardens combined with food recycling efforts were interwoven through this live performance.

Justice for Imprisoned Youth

 

Students used their case-study research and understanding of issues in the youth prison system to create a short documentary. The film was designed to broaden the awareness of the mistreatment of incarcerated juveniles. These young women interviewed adults who work for the youth prison system, youth who have been incarcerated, as well as members of local community programs who provide reintegration support for former juvenile prisoners.
