World Savvy is a national education nonprofit that works with educators, schools, and districts to integrate the highest quality of global competence teaching and learning into K-12 classrooms, so all young people can be prepared to engage, succeed, and meet the challenges of 21st century citizenship.
World Savvy was founded in 2002 in response to a critical need for youth to acquire global knowledge and 21st century skills. We have grown from serving 90 students and 20 teachers to reaching more than 655,000 youth and 4,520 teachers across 25 states and five countries, an expansion made possible by the dedication and passion of World Savvy’s 13 staff members, 400 volunteers, and numerous community partners across our offices in San Francisco, New York and Minneapolis-St. Paul.
Today, World Savvy is a national leader and pioneer in the field – defining and leading efforts to sustainably and deeply integrate global competence into teaching and learning at all levels, and particularly for historically marginalized youth. Our dynamic programs and services help youth in middle and high school learn how to think, rather than what to think, about critical global and community issues, which are often complex and unaddressed in school.
Our work ensures students develop the knowledge, skills, and dispositions for global competence in the 21st century.
