Bethany is a native of Minnesota and has had a passion for cross-cultural relationship building and global competency since the first time she studied abroad at 11 years old. She was able to turn that passion into a career as an international development and education specialist. Primarily, Bethany works in comparative education, with a focus on gender equity and equality, but she also specializes in evaluation and assessment in a global context. Bethany joined World Savvy in 2017 as an evaluation consultant. As an evaluator, Bethany upholds the values of developmental and utilization-focused evaluation, deeply respecting the relationship building and capacity building aspects evaluation can bring to programs and operations.
Bethany holds a BS in International Studies from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls and an MA in Comparative International Development and Education from the University of Minnesota. She has strong international experience, having lived and worked in Africa for over 2.5 years, working in the health and education fields.
