Dr. Chuck Khoury
Dr. Charles Khoury holds a doctorate in Educational Theory, Policy and Administration from the Graduate School of Education at Rutgers University. His published dissertation involved measuring the Ethical Climate of Secondary Schools. He is a retired Superintendent and currently serves as a consultant to his former employer, and a mentor to his successor.
Dr. Khoury recently completed a 49-year career serving students in public schools in two states, New Jersey (34 1/2 years, and New York (14 1/2 years). He has served in a variety of positions including classroom teacher, assistant principal, high school principal, assistant superintendent, superintendent and District (County) Superintendent. During his eleven years as District Superintendent, he served at various times, as the New York State Commissioner of Education’s representative to the thirty-two public school districts in three counties. As District Superintendent he has conducted several superintendent searches, board workshops and many professional development programs. Dr. Khoury has been a featured speaker both nationally and internationally having presented at the Deeper Learning Conference in San Diego, AESA’s National Conference, AASA’s National Conference (scheduled) and the International School Study Council’s Leadership program in Australia.
Dr. Khoury has served as an adjunct professor of Educational Leadership at Rutgers University, Montclair State University, and at the State University of New York at New Paltz, teaching courses in District Administration, Leadership Theory into Practice, and Using Data in School Administration.
Dr. Khoury has extensive background in curriculum and instruction, labor management, negotiations, human resource management, district fiscal management, communications, and school and district operations. Dr. Khoury designed the framework of the highly successful Hudson Valley Pathways Academy, a P-Tech program, and has worked with school districts in Indiana as they work to establish P-Tech programs in their state.
Dr. Khoury has received Educational Leadership Awards from the Council of Industry of the Hudson Valley for his work in developing and fostering the growth of educational partnerships between P-12 Education, Higher Education, and Regional Industry. Dr. Khoury also received an Outstanding District Leadership Award from the Mid-Hudson School Study Council in recognition of his work in communications, and developing and fostering innovative programming during the school closures during the pandemic.
