Harben Porter

Harben Porter’s career began at the CityKids Foundation in New York City, an experience that cemented her belief in the transformative power of youth, educators, and community learning. After receiving a BA from UC Santa Cruz, Harben spent three years providing direct instruction to students with learning differences, during which time she observed systemic disparities in service acquisition and quality. This experience led her to leave the K-12 classroom and pursue an MPA at San Francisco State University with an emphasis on public policy, nonprofit management, and educational equity.

Prior to joining World Savvy, Harben spent ten years working at Seneca Family of Agencies in a variety of administrative, direct service, and leadership capacities. Most notably, Harben supported school partnership building throughout Northern California where she engaged a constellation of school and philanthropic partners to scale a federally funded multi-year education program. In her role as Regional Director of Development, Harben managed a team to execute a robust impact-driven fundraising strategy resulting in year-over-year growth across corporate, foundation, and private giving.

Additionally, Harben oversees strategy for Still We Rise, a social impact hub that has leveraged the power of social media to raise over $1 million dollars through digital grassroots fundraising and community building.

A mother to two, Harben is deeply invested in helping create an inclusive, high-quality, equitable education experience for all. She is thrilled to join the World Savvy team.
