Born and raised in Minnesota, Mallory has always been driven by a love for learning. Beginning her career as a classroom teacher working with English learners and “at-risk” students, Mallory was quickly exposed to the inequities of public education and worked diligently to create a classroom that was inclusive and real-world based, while holding all of her students to high standards. A desire to work more closely with educators to improve their cultural competence inspired Mallory to leave the classroom and take a position at the Minnesota Humanities Center. Working closely with community members in Minneapolis, St. Paul and Greater Minnesota, Mallory developed and facilitated humanities-based professional development offerings for educators. With stops in Chicago Public Schools as a 2013 Education Pioneers Graduate School Fellow and Minneapolis Public Schools as an Instructional Supports Manager along the way, Mallory joins World Savvy with over 10 years of experience, both in the classroom and facilitating learning experiences for educators.
Mallory holds a BA in History and an MEd in Social Studies Education, both from the University of Minnesota. She is currently completing an MA in Social and Cultural Foundations of Education from DePaul University.
