she • her • hers
Saniya left her hometown – New Delhi, India at 16 years old, to represent India in a global education movement called the United World Colleges (UWC) at their campus in Costa Rica. During this transformational educational experience, Saniya discovered the power of creating positive social change through educating and empowering young people to be leaders in their communities. She followed her passion for intercultural understanding to Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota, as it strongly valued diversity and Internationalism. She majored in Psychology and minored in Spanish and Philosophy.
Saniya is excited to use the knowledge and skills she has gained through her global experiences to help serve World Savvy’s mission. Being a part of a movement to increase global competence and empower young changemakers, especially from historically marginalized communities, right out of college, is her dream job.
Outside of work, Saniya enjoys philosophizing (with and without other people), playing the guitar (definitely without other people), and traveling to new places. Saniya has traveled to 32 countries and lived in 4 different countries this far (India, Costa Rica, Spain & U.S.A).
