William Hale is currently Chief of Global Operations for Cargill’s Corporate Strategy & Development (M&A) function. William joined Cargill in August of 2010 as a Commodity Merchant with Cargill’s flour milling joint venture, Horizon Milling and in 2012 moved on to become the Business Development Leader. In 2013 he joined Cargill Animal Nutrition as a Global Strategy Lead for the enterprise leading country strategy refreshes, acquisition game boarding and capital planning. From 2016 to 2019, he was the Group Strategy Leader for Cargill’s second largest business, Agricultural Supply Chain North America, where he provided strategic leadership for crop inputs, grain and oilseed origination, oilseed processing and biodiesel production, domestic and export trade, global cotton trading and marine and terminal operations. Prior to coming to Cargill, William worked in the private and corporate aviation industry as a Director of Marketing and Director of Distribution and Business Development. He also has experience in the medical, financial and technology industries across small, medium and large businesses.
In 2015 William was named one of Twin Cities Finest by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and Minneapolis / St. Paul magazine for his community leadership and professional accomplishments. William has held a number of Board and Committee positions within the Twin Cities nonprofit community including organizations such as World Savvy, The Leadership Emergence & Development (LEAD) Program, The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Twin Cities and The Children’s Home Society and Family Services. He has also chaired a number of Community Enrichment Committees across Cargill working in partnership with Cargill Corporate Affairs for the local Minneapolis community and North America.
William was named to the Board of Directors of the Minnesota Chamber of Commerce in August of 2019 providing leadership to the business community and has also previously chaired Government Affairs for the Eden Prairie Chamber of Commerce (2012). William is a 2002 graduate of Iowa State University where he obtained a Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems.
