Connecting Students with Environmental Experts

June 14, 2019
Through World Savvy, Rod Septka’s students researched the poaching of elephants for ivory and were shocked to see how devastating poaching was for the elephant population. When they presented their solution at the World Savvy Festival, a woman in the audience was so impressed by their presentation that she invited them to hear zoologist Iain Douglas-Hamilton speak on elephant poaching at the National Academy of Sciences.
His students have gone on and continued to do work in support of the environment.
