Changemaker Hub

Changemaker Hub

Reimagining education to prepare young people for a changing world.

A one-day experience that centers student voice and sparks real change

Changemaker Hubs are immersive, one-day experiences that bring students, educators, leaders, and community members together to reimagine what learning can look like—and to begin shaping change from within.

Designed and facilitated by World Savvy, Changemaker Hubs create space for honest dialogue, shared reflection, and student-led ideas that can move back into schools, districts, and communities.

What Is a Changemaker Hub?

A Changemaker Hub is a structured, facilitated experience—not a lecture or assembly. Students are positioned as central voices, while educators, leaders, and community members participate as listeners, collaborators, and co-learners.

The goal is not to arrive at perfect answers in a single day, but to spark meaningful conversations, surface new perspectives, and create momentum for student-led action beyond the Hub itself.

Who It’s For

Changemaker Hubs are intentionally cross-role and intergenerational.

Students

Share lived experiences, raise questions, and propose ideas for change.

Educators

Listen deeply, reflect on practice, and explore new ways to support student agency.

School & District Leaders

Gain insight into student needs and identify opportunities for meaningful, sustainable change.

Community Members

Contribute local perspectives and help connect learning to real-world contexts.

All participants engage as equals in conversation and inquiry.

What Happens During the Day

Throughout the Hub, participants:

  • Reflect on their experiences within the education system

  • Engage in dialogue across roles and perspectives

  • Reimagine what learning could look like for today’s students

  • Surface ideas and questions that can lead to action

World Savvy facilitators guide the experience, creating a safe and inclusive space for listening, collaboration, and shared problem-solving.

What to Expect

What Changes

What Comes Out of a Changemaker Hub

For Students
  • Increased confidence and agency

  • Opportunities to lead and be heard

  • Ideas they can bring back to their schools and communities

For Adults
  • Deeper understanding of student experiences

  • New ways to engage students as partners

  • Momentum for conversations and change beyond the Hub

The impact of a Changemaker Hub often extends well beyond a single day, shaping future initiatives, partnerships, and student-led projects.

What Makes Changemaker Hubs Different

Throughout the Hub, participants:

  • Not adult-led lectures

  • Not one-directional feedback sessions

  • Not performative listening

Instead, they are designed for authentic dialogue, shared inquiry, and real connection—centering students as collaborators in shaping the future of learning.

Why It’s Different

Changemaker Hubs in Action

At a recent Changemaker Hub in the Wayne Finger Lakes region, students, educators, and community members from eight schools gathered to openly discuss what students need from school today. Together, they questioned long-standing assumptions, explored new possibilities, and began turning questions into pathways for action—guided by conversation, not directives.
